Twenty-five years ago, actress Sharon Stone posed for Playboy magazine and capitalized on a skyrocketing fame that would soon make her one of the most famous women in thew world.

1992’s “Basic Instinct” and Stone’s famous nudity helped solidify her mark on Hollywood and in the overall cannon of pop culture.

After a string of successful films throughout the 1990s, Stone’s career took a break in the early 2000s after the actress suffered a stroke. Almost 15 years after having to relearn how to walk and speak, Stone is baring it all and opening up about that painful time in a big way.¬† In the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar, Stone stripped down to her birthday suit and opened up about her struggles .

“I thought, ‘You know what? I got thrown off the bullet train, and now I’m going to have to crawl up a hill of broken glass, get back on the train that’s going a million miles an hour, and work my way from the cattle car up,” Stone said.

“That’s just the way it is, so I’d better get humble and shut the fuck up and do the job. Because if I can’t do this job, I’m certainly not going to be able to do anything else.'”

The photos in the magazine, shot by photographer Mark Abraham, show off Stone’s intense physique at age 57, something that Stone bemoaned wasn’t getting much action lately

“I never get asked out,” Stone tells the magazine.

“I’ve been getting more brazen with flirting, but I don’t think men realize that I’m flirting. They just think, Oh, she’s fun!” She turns to her longtime assistant and asks, “Do you think people even realize I’m straight? I think they have questions about it because I have so many lesbian friends right now.”
