A Houston man was critically injured last week after a possible road rage incident, and what is wrong with people

Around 11:30 p.m. last Sunday night, a man identified as Shannon Reeves got into a verbal argument with another driver as they sat in traffic created by another fatal accident.

While stuck in the backup, Reeves got out of his car, and the person he was arguing with, identified as Monte Justus Pounds, ended up striking Reeves with his vehicle when he turned to leave.

Police later found Reeves lying wounded in the middle of the street on the East Freeway, after responding to a call of a “complainant chasing a suspect.”

As of Monday morning, June 26, his condition was listed as critical.

Pounds was found and arrested the same day on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

It’s still unclear whether their argument began there on the freeway or was a continuation of an earlier disagreement.

The traffic backup may have also been a key factor in this incident, following an unrelated a crash where a woman hit a tractor trailer with her sedan and died on the scene, but this has not been confirmed by police.
