Kevin Richardson, also known as The Lion Whisperer, teamed up with GoPro to record some incredible footage of his lionesses, Meg and Amy.


To keep cool in the blazing South African heat, Richard takes a dip into a nearby waterhole, leaving Meg at the edge, skeptical about going in.

Richardson calls for her. After debating a bit, the lioness looks deep into his eyes and makes a jump for it.

Unlike tigers, lions do not enjoy the water. They prefer to stay on land, where the Nile crocodile does not necessarily thrive.

“I thought, ‘Wow, that’s amazing. This lioness trusts me enough to come into the water,” Richardson said.

Richardson’s bond with the apex predators has proven strong countless times before but this lioness’ act of faith in a man continues to astonish Internet users worldwide.

“Meg and Amy are kind of my soul mates. It’s like humans. You can meet many, many people in your life, but there’s very few that you actually connect wholeheartedly with.”
