At a Pittsburgh zoo, a female elephant is giving birth to a calf.

The female squats as a zookeeper patrols the area and waits for the big splash. It suddenly happens.

Instantly, the female backs away from the calf, then re-approaches it, using her trunk to touch its motionless body.

The keeper immediately begins to wipe away the excess fluids from the calf’s body. Soon enough, it begins to move. The mother then comforts her young.
