“William and I have called off our engagement,” Jennifer wrote in an April 7 tweet on her Twitter page. “We came to the mutual agreement that this is what’s best for both of us right now. Thank you for your support and respecting our privacy during this time.”

Country music fans will recall that the two announced their engagement on Dec. 30, when Jennifer shared a picture of her left hand with a bright and shiny new ring on it. The couple was just one of a flurry of country superstars that got engaged around the same time, including Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Evans and Kacey Musgraves and Ruston Kelly.

On Jan. 25, Nashville concert series, Whiskey Jam, shared on their Twitter page Will singing the late Keith Whitley’s smash hit, “Miami, My Amy,” while Jennifer watched.

Just last month, Jennifer and Runaway June band mates were celebrating the history-making debut single, “Lipstick,” reaching the top 25 at country radio, “becoming the first all-female trio in over 10 years to earn a Top 25 hit on the Mediabase Country chart,” according to a press release.

We wish Jennifer and William all the best during this challenging time.
