If there could be a best case scenario to a near fatal accident, Savannah Chrisley of “Chrisley Knows Best” knows what that is and is thanking God and her lucky stars.

On the evening of Jan. 17, we learned that the petite young beauty queen was involved in a single car collision that could have ended badly. The Chrisley patriarch, Todd, supplied a brief story of what had happened to E!, expressing his gratitude that his daughter would recover from her injuries.

Later on Instagram, Savannah shared more details on that accident. She confirmed her father’s story that she had reached down to pull the car mat from where it had slipped under her accelerator. She writes, “I looked down for a brief second to try and get it out of the way and then I realized that I was headed straight towards the guardrails…I tried to over correct but it didn’t help. As soon as I hit the guardrail my airbags came out and because of the airbags and seatbelt the injuries weren’t near as bad as they could have been.”

She goes on to say, “But what I do remember is going in and out of consciousness screaming for help and and cars just continued to pass.”

A good Samaritan did stop after what she estimates was about 20 minutes and reached out to the police. She doesn’t know who that kind person was.

While Savannah’s injuries could have been worse, she did break a vertebrae in her neck and will be out of commission for about a month. But she is crediting the incident with getting her life back on track. Savannah shared a graphic on Instagram that says: “The only way God can show us He’s in control is to put us in situations we can’t control.” She then writes, “I can truly say that I now fully understand the meaning of this quote…the past couple of days have been some of the toughest for me. And I truly think that God has made them so difficult because I began straying away from Him and His word.”

She ends her post saying, “I truly believe that God has put this situation to open my eyes to what is truly important in life and to put my focus back on Him in order to live the right live and be unbelievably happy.”

We’re sending lots of healing thoughts to Savannah for a rapid recovery.
