Texas country singer-songwriter Rich O’Toole was involved in a serious accident while en route to a show in Amarillo, Texas. According to “Saving Country Music,” the popular entertainer, who is also a successful entrepreneur, was in an Uber when, for unknown reasons, the car came to a stop in the middle of the freeway and was struck from behind.

Initially, Rich was unable to feel or move his right arm but has since regained sensation and underwent surgery on Feb. 26 due to a neck injury he sustained during the collision. “Saving Country Music” reports that he is able to move his extremities post-surgery, but that he is also expected to be out of commission for a week or two.

This comes on the verge of the release of Rich’s album, “American Kid,” due out March 17. Rich’s name may sound familiar as he has opened for Willie Nelson and been a frequent collaborator with fellow country star Josh Abbott. In fact, on Rich’s third album, “Kiss of a Liar,” the pair had a duet titled “Ay Dios Mio.”

Rich is also behind the popular digital application, “TexMoji,” which features emojis familiar to Texans, such as Willie’s braids, Whataburger’s table tents, armadillos, crawfish, jalapeños, margaritas, JJ Watt’s 99 jersey number and a variety of Texas college football helmets. He’s also an owner in The Lone Star Collection – a line of men’s dress shirts that come complete with the Texas flag emblazoned on the cuff, chest pocket or collar, and jackets with the flag on the lining.

And if that doesn’t ring a bell, search the hashtag #BigButtsAndTacoTrucks and you’ll find Rich’s name. The handsome and hilarious young Texan is popular for not taking himself too seriously in both his life and his music, and he’s well-known for high-energy shows that turn any venue into a party.

We’re sending our prayers to Rich for a speedy recovery.
