All four judges took a break from their roles on NBC’s “The Voice” to pack into a trolley and tour the backlot sights at Universal Studios in Los Angeles on Nov. 23.
Host Carson Daly was on hand to interview veteran coaches Blake Shelton and Adam Levine, along with season 11 newbies Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys, as part of a special segment on “Today.”
Carson told the foursome to “tell people at home how much fun it is to come to work on the show.”
Coach Adam Levine gave an enthusiastic answer saying, “When people [say they] love the show, I’m like, ‘Yea, so do I. It’s really fun!’”
Of course, fans know that one big part of “The Voice” is the hilarious ribbing that takes place between coaches. With both Miley and Alicia being the new crop on board Blake joked, “It’s always exciting to have new coaches and new people to beat. It makes me happy. You get tired of beating the same old people over and over again. Now I get to see the look of disappointment on two new people’s faces.”
“I would love to whoop Blake’s booty,” quipped Alicia adding, “Honestly, who doesn’t love to win? But, I think the most important thing is that we are leaving the artist with something that they can take with them on their journey in life. To me, that’s the most important thing.”
Aside from chatting about “The Voice,” all four artists took turns sharing what they are thankful for, ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Blake simply said that he was grateful for “new beginnings,” while Alicia name dropped her brand-new album, “Here.” Miley said “light” and “positivity” were two of her greatest joys, while Adam’s gratitude could’ve literally put a tear in anyone’s eyes.
He said “I’m thankful for God, and how lucky I am every single day. I have an amazing life. I have an amazing daughter and an amazing family and wife and love these guys that I work with everyday.”
