Thomas Rhett’s impending fatherhood helps guide him to exciting new project

Rare Country/Thomas Rhett

Thomas Rhett is looking at the world through brand-new eyes now that he’s expecting not one, but two babies in the next few months. All of a sudden, Thomas is thinking about all the ways he’s going to provide for those little ones.

He tells Rare Country, “When I think about having children, I think about how much I’m going to take care of them and nourish them and love them.”

There are other children who aren’t so fortunate. The problem of hunger affects some 42 million people in our country. That’s why Thomas has signed on as the spokesperson for the Outnumber Hunger campaign.

You’ll see his face on boxes of General Mills products in stores now. Once you purchase that box of cereal or granola bars, just enter the code on the back of the package at OutnumberHunger.com/backstage. You’ll instantly trigger a donation from General Mills to help feed the hungry, and you’ll get a really sweet Pandora playlist curated by Thomas.

He says, “It’s not, ‘Go, donate to this cause.’ It’s ‘Hey, buy cereal you were going to buy anyway. Enter the code. Help your local community, and get exclusive music on Pandora.’ So, there’s a lot of benefits for the consumer as well, and they don’t know how much they are helping people that are really hungry in America.”

Of course, country fans love seeing Thomas Rhett’s face on their cereal aisle, but it was an interesting experience for Thomas to see himself all over the grocery store.

He admits, “It’s really strange. This is the equivalent of me seeing Wayne Gretzky on a Wheaties box. It’s an honor.”

Thomas performed his brand-new single, “Craving You,” at a party to celebrate Outnumber Hunger in Las Vegas on March 31 while in town ahead of the Academy of Country Music Awards. Check out his performance of that new song with Maren Morris at the ACM Awards at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 2, on CBS.
