Country star comes under attack for how she is raising her daughter

It’s a proverb that everyone is familiar with. Many of us even remember that lovable fluffy bunny, Thumper, from the animated film “Bambi,” remorsefully reciting, “If you can’t say somethin’ nice, don’t say nothin’ at all.”

Yet, some folks still feel entitled to chastise and criticize what other people do. Social media has given those judgmental folks the perfect outlet for their often harsh words and celebrities seem to be their favored target. We’ve seen Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton all fall victim to attacks via social media, but Jana Kramer was just trying to enjoy a vacation with daughter Jolie when she became the target of some social media hate.

While in Orlando, the country music mom took her 1-year-old to the city’s Discover Cove, a theme park that gives visitors an interactive experience with tropical fish, exotic birds and, everyone’s favorites, bottlenose dolphins. After posting a photo with a dolphin, then a second with Jolie as an armadillo strolls closely by, Jana came under fire.

The negative comments on her first photo became too much for Jana to bear and she removed the photo from her timeline. Several hours later, though, she reposted it and addressed the bullies from her previous post. Among her comments, Jana wrote, “I don’t preach politics or try to shove my beliefs on any of you. I’m simply trying to be the best mom I can be and all I wanted was to take my daughter to a place where we could have fun and she could see this beautiful well taken care of creature up close and personal by some amazing and super kind trainers. I will be back at @discoverycove…I will also take Jolie to zoos, I will give her food that’s not organic at times, I will feed her meat, whole milk, and I will have a few glasses of wine to myself at the end of the night. If any of you have a problem with how I live my day to day then I’m sorry. I’m simply doing the best I can.”

We applaud Jana’s firm and honest stance. We also applaud all of the mothers and fathers out there who, like this country star, are doing the best they can.
