Country powerhouse Craig Morgan is going through every parent’s nightmare at this very moment. His son, Jerry Greer, was simply out for a Sunday funday along the Tennessee River and Kentucky Lake on July 10 tubing with his friends, when he fell from his tube into the water. Since he was wearing a life jacket, everyone assumed he would pop right back up from the water.

He did not.

A statement released in the early morning hours of July 11 stated the following: “Recent Dickson County High School graduate Jerry Greer (19), son of country music entertainer Craig Morgan and wife Karen Greer, went missing yesterday following a boating accident on Kentucky Lake in Humphreys County, Tennessee. Recovery efforts to locate him are underway. The family is grateful for everyone’s support and prayers and requests privacy during this difficult time.”

According to “The Tennessean,” the first call for help took place during the late afternoon hours of July 10 to the county dispatch. First responders from around the Nashville area quickly acted, and a thorough search took place throughout the night, with more and more agencies joining the search as the hours go on.

“Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis said two teens were tubing on Kentucky Lake when they fell into the water,” “The Tennessean” reported. “A 19-year-old, who witnesses said was wearing a life jacket, never resurfaced from the water.”

We pray for Craig at this time.
