Being a celebrity certainly has its perks.
Just ask country music superstar Brad Paisley.
The 44-year-old hit-maker who can have just about anything that he wants went and got his tour bus custom made to model the style of his favorite kind of car — a 1958 Corvette.
On Nov. 23, Brad guest starred on an episode of CNBC’s “Jay Leno’s Garage” and invited Leno inside his tour bus. Lucky for us, we get to marvel at all of the details inside the $1.74 million 2012 Prevost, which produces 515 horsepower and 1,650 foot-pounds of torque.
In the video above, you’ll see that the classic Corvette brand runs throughout the interior of the fancy mobile. Crimson-colored pillows occupy luxurious leather seats, and decorative taillights hang above the checkered flooring. The outside of the tour bus is also a sight to see. It’s painted in red-and-black and includes jaw dropping rims.
“We wanted it to be fun,” Brad exclaimed.
Okay. Okay. So maybe it does make sense to spice up the bus seeing that Brad does spends a ton of time riding around in it. And heck, “car guy” Brad didn’t always have the wheels that he wanted. Back in high school, Brad’s first ever car purchase was a Chevy Cavalier.
“I actually sang and I played a lot of acoustic shows,” Brad tells Jay Leno, “I would get a couple hundred bucks every time. Before long, I had $3,000 dollars, and I bought my Chevy Cavalier.”
“I always wanted a Corvette growing up. So, I guess it was in the 2000s, I bought a used ’99 C5. Great car!” he added, “To me, [it’s] the most iconic American automobile. It just really is the flagship for our country. When you come back from the war, you should be given a Corvette!”
CNBC’s “Jay Leno’s Garage” airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EDT.
