But, it turns out that they did just that.

On Feb. 15, Gwen appeared on NBC’s “The Today Show” and told co-hosts Carson Daly and Matt Lauer that she was in New York over the holiday, while her country beau was in Oklahoma.
“We weren’t together. I was here, and he was in Oklahoma. He forgot! No, just kidding,” said Gwen. “I got some beautiful flowers and lots of texts. It was fun.”
Although the sweethearts couldn’t celebrate the special occasion as a couple, Gwen didn’t hesitate to gush over her gift from Blake. She snapchatted a selfie that included the breathtaking flower arrangement in the background. She also captioned the words, “Thank U Blakeeeee!!!!!” across the picture.

Even though Gwen and Blake were in separate states for Valentine’s Day, it won’t be long until they reunite again. The two are set to take up their roles as coaches on NBC’s’ “The Voice” – the same show that brought them together romantically. Gwen admits that she was “nervous at first” about the pair mixing work and their personal lives.

She said, “I was like, ‘Wait, is this going to be awkward? How am I going to act?’ But, it’s just natural. Sometimes it is a little bit [weird]. We’re driving home and I’m like, ‘Do you think I should put them together?’ And then I’m like, ‘Wait a minute! I’m not going to talk to you about this! I don’t know if you are the enemy. This is confusing.’ We actually do help each other, and I’ve learned a lot about country music — just in the last year — through him.”
Season 12 of “The Voice” premieres on Feb. 27 on NBC. Blake and Gwen will coach alongside fellow judges Adam Levine and Alicia Keys.
