To say that Beverly Lambert is proud of her daughter, Miranda Lambert, is an understatement.
In a new limited-edition book released along with Miranda’s latest album, “The Weight of These Wings,” Beverly writes the most glowing piece about her daughter, who she says is teaching her new things about herself almost every day.
“I learn by watching her business skills, her compassionate heart, her management style and her artistic eye,” Beverly says. “But I learn the most about myself through her lyrics. Too many times to count I have listened to her music and realized that she said something I had always thought or felt OR something that I’ve never thought or felt!”
We’re right there with you, Beverly. Miranda’s honesty on her new album is pretty stunning, but that’s nothing new for the country superstar. She’s been baring her soul on every album since her 2005 debut project, “Kerosene.” As Miranda’s mom, Beverly hears from a lot of people who have connected with Miranda’s music over the years.
Beverly continues, “So often I hear phrases like, ‘She was looking right through me’ or ‘That song went right to my soul.’ That’s because she writes about how people feel… about common experiences and emotions that humans share. Then she delivers the message with integrity and conviction, and we all feel understood. We all feel some kind of ownership and we feel like we’ve learned something about ourselves.”
If you’ve connected with Miranda’s music this year, you’ll want to head over to RareCountryAwards.com as soon as possible. She’s up for Fan Moment of the Year and Female Artist of the Year at the inaugural Rare Country Awards. Voting is now open, and winners will be announced on Dec. 15.
