Longtime NASCAR driver Mike Wallace attended the Rascal Flatts concert in North Carolina on June 17 just looking for a night of good music, fun times and father-daughter bonding.

He was not looking to get into a fight.

Yet, Mike, his daughter, Lindsey Wallace Van Wingerden, and Lindsey’s husband, Thomas Van Wingerden, were the victims of a brutal altercation in the parking lot after the country trio’s show in which both father and daughter suffered a number of injuries. In the days following the incident, three men have been arrested in connection to the attack.

On June 21, police released the 911 calls that came in during and after the altercation.

“They said there was blood everywhere out here,” one of the callers tells 911 dispatchers.

“There is a big fight out here,” a caller is heard reporting to the 911 operator.

“Mike was talking to one of the three men and then, out of nowhere, one came after Mike like a crazy man,” Kenny Wallace told USA TODAY Sports. “Mike was knocked out completely cold. While he was on the ground they continued to beat on him, kicking him in the face.”

We send our prayers to Mike and family as they continue to recover.
