Tour of the Year: Carrie Underwood

At Carrie Underwood’s core, she is just a small-town girl from Oklahoma who once tended to shy away from the bright lights of stardom.

Yet, in 2016, something amazing happened.

We’re not sure if it was the confidence of a crazy successful career, the love of her adorable family, or the strength that being a mom, business woman and superstar can give someone, but Carrie seemed to command the stage of her record-breaking The Storyteller Tour: Stories in the Round in a whole new way. And her fans took notice.

So much notice that Carrie has been awarded Tour of the Year in the inaugural Rare Country Awards.

From “Cowboy Casanova” to “Wasted” and “Two Black Cadillacs” to cuts from her latest album like “Heartbeat,” “Dirty Laundry” and “Choctaw County Affair,” Carrie’s fans exited arena after arena not only amazed by the sheer talent of the country superstar, but also with a new found spirit that they, too, can do it all if they just put their hearts into it.

Add that to the amazing support she received via special guests Easton Corbin and The Swon Brothers who came out night after night with a killer medley of Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s “Fishin’ In The Dark” and Alabama’s “Mountain Music,” and it’s no surprise that Carrie’s tour outshined the rest.

Girl, you deserved this one.

Congratulations, Carrie.
