Not only does Dolly have an impressive catalog of songs that include hits like “Jolene,” “9 to 5” and “I Will Always Love You,” but she’s also funny as heck! Her sunny disposition shines through with her over-the-top signature style and charming one-liners.

But, perhaps its Dolly’s will to make a difference in people’s lives that makes her a true gem.

The legendary country artist who grew up in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee has always found ways to give back to her community. Years ago, she started a family theme park called Dollywood to help attract visitors and bring revenue to the city of Pigeon Forge. She also helped create the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library that helps promote early childhood literacy.

But, December 2016 really showcased the Smoky Mountain songbird’s heart of gold. It was then that Dolly opened up her heart to the people of her hometown who were affected by a deadly wildfire. Through her Dollywood Foundation, Dolly created a My People Fund, and donated $1,000 a month for six months to the families who lost their homes in the blaze. She also planned a telethon to help raise money for the victims.

All of those reasons are why we want to pay homage to Dolly each and every day!
