Remember that Texas dad who became a viral video star in January after his daughter recorded him singing “Tennessee Whiskey” in their car? That dad, Kris Jones, is back with another amazing cover that’s making us wonder just how much longer we have to wait for this talented guy to land a record deal.

In his latest clip, Kris is joined by daughter Dayla, who harmonizes beautifully with him on Keith Urban’s recent hit, “Blue Ain’t Your Color.” Like his first video, it’s quickly going viral.

“Tennessee Whiskey” was recorded by Chris Stapleton, among other country acts, but Kris’ version brought him national attention, including a visit to “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” and has racked up well over 19 million views on YouTube. During his January appearance on “Ellen,” Kris revealed that because of the video’s success, he’d been invited to audition for an upcoming season of “The Voice.” He also revealed that he’d tried out for the show’s producers once before at a Dallas audition, but only got about seven words into his song before he was heartbreakingly told “nope.”

In a follow-up video shot a few days after “Tennessee Whiskey” first blew up, Kris thanked his newfound fans before launching into a cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man,” which he dedicated to his wife. That video was recorded without Dayla’s help. It did well, with more than a million views, but not nearly as well as “Tennessee Whiskey.” That has us wondering if maybe Dayla is the secret ingredient, especially now that we know she can sing, too!

So forget Kris’ solo record deal. Now we want to see this talented father-daughter team get signed as a duo.
