Country Music is everywhere this week!
On Wednesday, November 4, in honor of the 49th Annual CMA Awards, the folks at “Good Morning America” pulled out all the stops by inviting superstar Tim McGraw and three-time CMA nominee Chris Stapleton to be special guests on the popular morning show.
Fans filled the streets of Nashville’s lower Broadway by the thousands to catch a glimpse of McGraw’s performance, with some even lining up at 7 P.M. the night before and staying overnight!
McGraw, whose new album “Damn Country Music” comes out on Friday, November 6, was excited to talk about his new project and celebrate the start of the CMA Awards in style. He kicked it all off by performing the title track off his new record and took viewers back in time with a performance of his 2003 hit, “Real Good Man.”
But the festivities didn’t stop there. Stapleton, who’s nominated for three CMA Awards including Best New Artist, did his share of the celebrating. The rising star presented a South Carolina family with a brand new van after they lost almost everything they had to the recent floods in the area. It was one of those heartwarming moments that define what country music is all about.
To wrap it all up, “Good Morning America” co-host Lara Spencer announced the winners of the first two CMA Awards of 2015: “Music Video of the Year” which went to “Girl in a Country Song” by Maddie and Tae , and the “Musical Event of the Year” to Keith Urban and Eric Church for “Raise ‘Em Up.”
The rest of the winners will be revealed on the live broadcast.
It was the perfect way to celebrate country music’s biggest nights.
