Ask any entertainer in any genre of the music industry and they’ll tell you that award weeks are insanely busy. Sometimes they have to take a minute after it’s all over to realize everything that they did and all of the great people they met.
That’s exactly what Maren Morris did. After winning Best Country Solo Performance for “My Church” at this year’s Grammy Awards on Feb. 12, the petite and talented singer-songwriter celebrated with a few drinks and by re-connecting with fans on social media. Only the Valentine’s Day Twitter session wasn’t all about love.
Maren started by explaining the flood of emotions she was feeling in a four-part tweet.
However, she only got the first one posted before a Twitter troll decided to wreak havoc on the young star’s tender moment.
Maren did continue her train of thought and words of gratitude while the harassment continued before addressing the harassing post.
She then stood up for herself with a pair of solid comebacks, complete with hashtags:
Of course, the “My Church” singer’s fans and friends hopped on to quickly defend their favorite young singer and Maren moved on to celebrating that she does now have a Grammy on her mantle and she also does in fact, love beer.
A few hours later, she declared:
So, it looks like Maren had a nice night of toasting her new accomplishment and one internet troll had his five minutes of fame.
