“Real Housewives of ISIS” puts a hilarious spin on a real-life problem and stirs controversy

A BBC comedy sketch show entitled “Revolting” has released a skit called “The Real Housewives of ISIS,” and it’s exactly what it sounds like. There have been real problems with young women in first-world countries fleeing their homelands to “marry” ISIS fighters. Most of these women are converted to the cause via online chatrooms and Twitter conversations.

The skit has been met with some controversy, as many on social media sites are calling it distasteful. Others feel that satire is a productive way to show ISIS “we’re not afraid of them.” Conservative pundit Pamela Geller of The Geller Report wrote “leftists and most especially Muslims don’t think it’s funny because they see it as mocking Islam.”
