Police still need help solving a hit-and-run case that left a Marine dead. Cpl. William Kyle Ferrell had stopped to help a motorist stranded on the side of the road when a vehicle hit him. Witnesses say that the vehicle, believed to be a tractor-trailer possibly carrying a car trailer, stopped down the road before driving off again. Police asked for people to be on the lookout for a black tractor-trailer with heavy damage on the right front of the vehicle.

Now, the Maryland State Police are turning to social media to help find the driver. They released photos of Ferrell’s damaged truck, while Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland has made the incident the Crime of the Week. Crime Stoppers is also offering a $2,000 reward for anyone that gives information leading to an arrest and indictment of the driver. Anyone with information is urged to call¬†1-866-7-LOCKUP or submit a tip by texting “MCS plus your message” to CRIMES (274637).

Farrell was stationed at Camp David at the time of his death. The Marine Corps has a memorial service scheduled for him today. He was just 21 years old when he died.
