Police in Florida had a horrific discovery in the early hours of New Year’s Eve when a trooper came across the bodies of Daniel Kelsey, 32, and his wife, Heather Kelsey, 30. CBS reported that Sgt. Kime Montes of the Florida Highway Patrol found the couple at 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 31.

The most bizarre aspect of Montes’ discovery were the three young sons in the backseat of the family’s SUV watching a movie. According to CBS, the children were, “Aiden, 2, Nicholas, 1, and infant Joseph.” The children were all strapped into car seats and calmly watching a movie.

While the cause of death has not been completely identified and a toxicology report is still pending, The Daytona Beach News-Journal reported that “only one of them showed presumptive positive for drugs” and that “there were no signs of trauma or foul play on the couple’s bodies.” The sons are in the care of a relative and an investigation is underway as to what happened that evening.
