A little girl’s parents have been charged after she made a 911 call no child should have to make

It’s a scene no 9-year-old imagines witnessing.

A Cincinnati, Ohio, dispatcher answered the call of a scared girl who couldn’t get her parents to wake up. She was sitting in the back of the family SUV. Her parents had overdosed on heroin in the front seat, reports WLWT-TV.

“I’m scared,” she told the dispatcher.

“I know you’re scared, but you’ll be OK, it will be alright,” the dispatcher assured.

The girl informed her that her parents were still breathing, but that she was unable to wake them.

Though she could not fully explain their location, emergency services were able to find the girl and her parents.

Her parents, Paula Smith and Charles Dove, are facing charges over the incident.
