Reports circulated Wednesday night that Donald Trump Jr. told a crowd of second amendment supporters that a political run could be in his future. Don Jr. reportedly told members of the F6 Labs gun club in Hicksville, NY, that he is interested in a run for governor.

“Don Jr. said he is interested in running for office, such as governor of New York, but the position of mayor of New York would be less interesting to him,” the source said.

“Do I want to be behind the scenes and be a mouthpiece and fight back against crazy liberal media? Maybe.” Don Jr. reportedly said. “Going back to doing deals is boring after 18 months. The politics bug bit me.”

According to a guest, Don Jr. said he doesn’t have much interest in the Senate or House of Representatives and feels that the governor’s mansion would suit him.

During the 2016 presidential campaign, Don Jr. mused that once his kids were grown he could run for office.

“Maybe when the kids get out of school I would consider it,” Don Jr. said.

A Trump spokesman denied that Don. Jr. has any interest in running for office in a statement to the New York Post.

“Don [Jr.] has no intentions of running for political office at this time . . . [He] is totally focused on running the Trump Organization with his brother.”
