Congressman John Lewis told NBC News this week that he did not consider President-elect Donald Trump, a legitimate president after Russia’s apparent influence on the 2016 presidential election.

“It’s going to be very difficult. I don’t see this president-elect as a legitimate president,” Lewis said.

“I think the Russians participated in helping this man get elected. And they helped destroy the candidacy of Hillary Clinton,” Lewis continued.

On Saturday morning, Trump responded to Lewis’ criticism and said that Lewis should spend more time helping the people in his congressional district than making false claims about the election.

“Congressman John Lewis should spend more time on fixing and helping his district, which is in horrible shape and falling apart (not to……mention crime infested) rather than falsely complaining about the election results,” Trump wrote on Twitter.

“All talk, talk, talk – no action or results. Sad!” he concluded.
