“McMaster was given responsibility for setting the agenda for meetings of the NSC or the Homeland Security Council, and was authorized to delegate that authority to Bossert,” Bloomberg reported.

News of Bannon’s inclusion on the NSC angered many on the left and right when it was announced in early 2016. A White House official told Bloomberg that Bannon never actually attended any related meetings, despite his status on the NSC principle’s committee.

The news of Bannon’s removal from the NSC was later confirmed by the Associated Press.
