Two men robbed a high-end Madison Avenue jewelry store while it was open on Monday morning, threatening employees with a gun and snagging five watches worth $300,000, according to The New York Post. Now, we have the amazing video of the broad daylight heist.
The police released the video Tuesday; it depicts a dramatic scene that begins with the two men causally walking into Jaeger-LeCoultre jewelry store. Both men are dressed in large overcoats and wearing sunglasses to make themselves completely unrecognizable.
One of the men threatens an employee with a pistol. The other shatters two of the shop’s glass display cases with a hammer, reaches into the case with his gloved hand and nabs the luxury watches.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Perpetual watch is featured in the new superhero movie “Dr. Strange.”
Here is the police description of the thieves:
The man who threatened workers at gunpoint is about 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds with a light complexion. He wore a black winter coat, black dress pants, a New York Yankees baseball cap and sunglasses. The other suspect, who police say smashed the display cases, is about 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, also with a light complexion. He wore a gray winter coat, a multi-colored ski cap, black pants, black Nike boots and black sunglasses.
“I was robbed at gunpoint,” a victim told The Post as he exited the store after the heist.
