Kendall Lucas, a 25-year-old Texas softball coach, was arrested after allegedly participating in an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old female student and member of the softball team. She was charged with improper relationship between an educator and a student after being investigated by the Taylor Police Department.

Taylor High School officials learned of the relationship last week after speaking with two other softball players, who said they found out about the tryst from the victim. The investigation found that Lucas and the victim engaged in a sexual relationship between March and May of 2016.
On Friday, Lucas, who also served as the assistant volleyball coach and business education teacher, turned herself in at the Travis County Jail. Police say she confessed to the relationship and told them that she had around 10 “sexual encounters” with the victim. She faces between two and 20 years in prison and a fine up to $10,000.
“Like you, we are all obviously shocked and dismayed by this allegation and will be working to support all of our students in coping with this disturbing news,” Principal Andrew Maddox said in a letter to the school’s families.
