“Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough said that President Donald Trump is going to have to kick his top adviser, Steve Bannon, to the curb.

During his Monday broadcast, Scarborough, who reportedly gave Trump political advice during the election, talked about Trump’s declining approval rating, which hit a new low of 36 percent, according to a recent Gallup Poll.

“There are about 10 percent of Americans who voted for him because he is not Hillary Clinton. His base is 35 percent, 36 percent,” Scarborough said. “That’s what he’s boiled down to, because he has simply refused to listen to everybody that has told him, ‘You need to reach out and be more inclusive.’”

The new dip in Trump’s approval rating came after the spectacular failure of the Republicans’ health care bill, which was pulled a short time before it was slated to head to the House for a vote. According to one poll, only 17 percent of Americans supported the bill.

Scarborough said that many people, including the press, President Trump and his top adviser Steve Bannon, are failing to consider that Trump’s win was due to Clinton’s horrible campaign and the fact that people wanted something different, rather than a “new moment in America political history.”

“‘Oh, they’re going to want me to be Vladimir Lenin and tear down the government because 65 percent of Americans are against us’ — what idiots,” Scarborough said, referring to Bannon’s thinking and Trump’s declining support among people outside of his base.

“If [Trump] wants to get his 36 to 56, he’s going to have to fire Steve Bannon and anyone else who calls himself a Leninist who wants to destroy the American republic,” Scarborough asserted, “and start working with Republicans and Democrats. And doing what 78 percent of Americans told NBC News a couple weeks ago — they want their leaders to compromise and work with the other side. “
