A recent video produced by National Geographic shows just how easy it is for the worst nightmare of many people to truly come true.

Though few have actually seen it, many people are terrified of the thought that rats could crawl up into a toilet bowl and bite them in the butt.

According to NatGeo, that is much easier for a rat to do than most people think.

Because rat ribs are “hinged at the spine,” a rat can fit easily in tight pages…like a toilet bowl pipe.

And since many residential pipes feed into a main sewer grid, rats can crawl up origin pipes and explore a neighborhood plumbing system.

From there they can squirm just about anywhere…even into your toilet.

When you see how easy it is for a rat to crawl up the toilet, you’ll never sit down the same way again NatGeo
