A woman was arrested on Christmas Eve after officials found an infant inside a trash can at a Louisiana Walmart.

According to WAFB, officials believe Kyandrea Thomas gave birth inside the New Roads, La., store and then allegedly put the baby in the trash can. Thomas was later arrested by New Roads Police Department, according to the Pointe Coupee Parish Sherrif’s Office.

Thomas checked into Lane Regional Medical Center on her own, before being discharged and taken into custody, according to WAFB.

Officials, who are calling the baby Olivia, for now, was only 4 to 6 hours old when she was discovered, according Pointe Coupee Parish Corner’s Office Chief Deputy Joe Gannon.

It’s believed the baby was discovered by a Walmart employee, according to NRPD, WAFB reported.

Sadly, it’s not the first time Thomas was arrested. In 2009, she was charged with negligent homicide after leaving a child inside a hot car.

The baby, who is reportedly in stable condition, was first taken to Pointe Coupee General Hospital and was then transported to Our Lady of the Lake.
