Simone Biles just got an invitation to prom, but it wasn’t from her crush Zac Efron or even her “favorite Brit” gymnast, Brinn Bevan. Rather, she has a new man vying for her attention.
Noah Fehr, a 17-year-old high school student from West Bend, Iowa, is hoping Biles will accompany him to prom his prom in 2017.
He originally sent out his promposal on social media in September, but when his request didn’t reach Biles, he took matters into his own hands.
On Oct. 8, he hopped in the car with a friend and drove nearly 200 miles to Omaha, Nebr., for the 2016 Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics Champions so he could ask Biles to prom in person.
Well, Fehr’s hard work and dedication paid off because he got to meet Biles, ask her to the prom and even has pictures to prove it.
So why did Fehr want to invite Biles to his 2017 prom?
According to “TODAY,” Fehr admires Biles for her amazing athletic abilities because he isn’t able to play sports himself.
Fehr, who has rheumatoid arthritis and postural orthostatic tachycardia, which have prevented him from playing sports, told “TODAY” in an email, “I don’t want Simone to come just because I suffer from these diseases. I want to show other kids that suffer from chronic pain that they do not have to let that define them.”
While it isn’t clear if Biles accepted Fehr’s invitation, we’re hoping his reaction is an indicator that she is seriously considering it.
