America’s favorite TV host Regis Philbin appeared on Larry King’s show recently, where he talked about not keeping in touch with his former cohost Kelly Ripa.

The two hosted “Live with Regis and Kelly” from 2001 to 2011.

“Never once did they ask me to go back,” Philbin, 85, told King, despite being the face of the talk show for 28 years.

“She got very offended when I left. She thought I was leaving because of her,” he continued. “I was leaving because I was getting older, and it wasn’t right for me anymore.”

Turns out however, Philbin has been back to the “Live” show since leaving.

“It was wonderful to have Regis on the show for our 2015 Halloween special,” Dave Davis, President and General Manager of WABC, the channel which produces the show, wrote in an email.

He clarified further: “He’s also been invited back several times as a guest, and in fact was confirmed for a date, but was not able to make it at the time.”
