After four decades in film, a Hollywood standby has died

TMZ is reporting that Bill Paxton, of “Twister,” “Apollo 13,” “Aliens,” Titanic,” “Hatfields and McCoys” and more, has died, according to family. “It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away,” they say. Paxton, 61, passed away suddenly from complications from surgery.

He was working on “Training Day,” a CBS series. He leaves behind his wife, Louise Newbury, and their two sons.

In their statement, the family said “Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable.”
