The Piano Guys’ out-of-the-box-but-classical take on “Angels We Have Heard on High” is just what Santa ordered to spread Yuletide cheer, raking in nearly 3 million views in just over a week.

Watch the four-man band unwrap their piano, plug in the toy train and begin their intimate holiday performance surrounded by the glow of a nearby Christmas tree — and, listen for a few additional Christmas melodies occasionally interrupting “Angels We Have Heard on High.”

The musicians, in a statement posted to YouTube, express their awe with the Christmas story and desire to share their love of the season with their fans.

“While the video primarily presents the “fun” side of Christmas … we wanted the music to portray what, to us, is the true meaning of the Holiday season. As we wrote it we imagined the ‘shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.’ And how the Angel appeared to them, announcing the humble birth of the Savior of the World,” said the statement.

“How incredible it would have been when ‘suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men!’ (Holy Bible, Luke Chapter 2),” the statement adds.

“We wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. We love you!”
