“He’s a spoiling grandfather. Spoiling,” former First Lady Laura Bush revealed to PEOPLE.

“I’m the first to admit it,” Bush added. “You want to play a video game, I’m the guy.”

“You want to eat ice cream?” Laura Bush asked.

“I’m the guy,” Bush confirmed. His granddaughters, Mila, 3, and Poppy, 1, reportedly call him, “El Jefe” (the boss.) “I’m probably undermining every lesson that Jenna and [her husband] Henry are trying to teach little Mila, but, you know, what the heck?”

According to the publication, Bush shares his love of painting with eldest granddaughter, Mila. It is set up in his art studio at the family ranch in Crawford, Texas.

“I’ll paint, and she’ll paint. It’s really fun,” he said.

He might be “more sensitive” since becoming and artist, but that doesn’t mean Bush is ready for princess tea parties with his granddaughters.

“Not quite there,” he said. “I mean, I’m sensitive now. But not that sensitive.”
