Dance pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy had to sit this week out after suffering a calf injury during rehearsals. His partner Heather Morris had to go on without him to perform the jive with Alan Bersten. The couple received a 30 out of a possible 40 points for this performance.

“He was very worried about me all night,” Heather told E! News of Bersten’s last minute fill-in. “I was like, ‘No, no, no, this is about you and I both.'”

“The most important thing though is Heather gets comfortable and Maks gets better soon,” Bersten added. “It’s not easy for her to transfer to a different partner at the last minute.”

Morris also opened up about the moment Chmerkovskiy was injured while preparing for the second week of competition.

“It seemed like something that was so small,” she said. “And my reaction, obviously wasn’t huge because it was like, ‘Oh, what happened? It just felt like something popped?’ And he couldn’t really walk.”

She said that he was “manly and humble” after he was injured.

“He was like, ‘No, I’m fine.’ And was just trying to figure it out by himself,” she said.

“Dancing with the Stars” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
