Ivanka Trump shares a powerful story of one woman’s journey from homelessness to small business owner

Since moving to Washington, D.C., first daughter Ivanka Trump has engaged in a women business owner round table, and traveled to the winter White House in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.

This week, she embedded herself in the Baltimore, Md. small business and Urban League community.

“Honored to join @MarcMorial, J.Howard Henderson, #DinaPowell and @Linda_McMahon in a roundtable discussion with local small business owners at the Greater Baltimore Urban League to learn about their challenges and successes accessing capital, markets, mentors and networks. #NationalUrbanLeague#SmallBusiness @gbulorg,” she wrote on Instagram, accompanied by a picture of the roundtable.

Trump later shared about one woman’s incredible story of how she was once homeless and now has her own business.

“Meet Lisa Phillips,” she writes. “Once homeless, Lisa turned her life around when she founded her company, @CeleebrateUs — an event planning and gift basket company in Baltimore.
