Entertainer and former host of “Dirty Jobs” Mike Rowe was close friends with Phil Harris when he passed away. Rowe has made a name for himself showcasing the work of Americans who aren’t always on camera, and Harris came to fame as one of the stars of the Discovery Channel program, “Deadliest Catch.” When Harris died in 2010, Rowe wrote a eulogy for his friend. A Facebook fan recently asked Rowe if he could share the eulogy once more, and he was happy to oblige.

“You are truly the voice of The Bering Sea. I just watched the episode where Phil died, and wept all over again,” Facebook fan Marcus Haley wrote.

“I don’t cry much, especially at reruns, but that episode destroys me every time. You wrote a eulogy of sorts, back when Phil passed. Would you mind posting it again? Thanks.”

Rowe posted his response to Marcus, along with the full text of his loving eulogy.

“It’s been a privilege to tell the stories of these fisherman. I’ll see the Captains this week in LA for a Season premiere party, and I strongly suspect we’ll drink a toast to Phil. Here’s what I wrote when he died, back in 2010. Hard to believe it’s been seven years,” Rowe told Marcus.
