For the past four years, the name “Robertson” has been associated with long beards, duck calls and love of family thanks to the A&E show “Duck Dynasty.” But one of the most beloved members of the Robertson family — 19-year-old daughter Sadie Robertson — has been carving her own space in pop culture, entertainment and faith circles.

Robertson’s star rose even further in 2014 thanks to a headline-grabbing run on “Dancing with the Stars.” Her positive message and inspiring devotion to family and faith resonated with audiences who, week after week, tuned in to support her.

“I remember praying when I was little, ‘God just give me something, give me a platform, give me people to reach,’ ” Robertson told Rare. “I would have never thought that he’d give me this platform or this many people to reach.”

Though she didn’t win the competition, Robertson’s time on the show helped push her name beyond the family business and elevated her personal projects to greater heights.

“I’ve been blessed. I have a lot of good mentors in my life,” she said of her fame at the Rare Under 40 Awards.

In her 19 years, Robertson has learned a few lessons about faith and growing up that she hopes to share with the world while providing others with the same type of mentors she had as a child.

“People always say is it hard (to be a role model) or do you feel pressure?” Robertson told Rare. “Honestly, I don’t … because when I came into this, I was 14 years old … but I always knew that this would be something to glorify God.”

She launches an event tour this fall to help teach people young and old what it means to truly “Live Original,” the name of Robertson’s New York Times best-selling book and lifestyle message that encourages people to stay true to themselves and their values.

The 17-date tour has stops in San Antonio, Baton Rouge, Birmingham and more beginning Sept. 22.

“My whole message is speaking confidence into the youth of America,” Robertson said.

Unlike most people her age, she was asked to grow up on television for millions of people to see. Through the experiences that have followed, Robertson believes she can offer people a new perspective and has asked her “squad” to come along.

“We have such a solid group,” Robertson said. “I know that it’s going to be absolutely life-changing, not just for those attending but also for all of us involved.”

Robertson will be joined on the Live Original tour by several members of her family, including her older brother John Luke and his wife, Mary Kate. In between testimonials from Robertson and her squad, audiences will hear performances from contemporary Christian rock bands Family Force 5 and Love & the Outcome.

Robertson is often surprised by her fame and mostly wants to use her platform to help others.

“Whenever I used to think, ‘OK, what do I want to be when I grow up?’ it was definitely not this,” she told Rare. “I never thought this would happen to me.”

“Whenever you decide that you can’t limit yourself and that God can do amazing things … he’ll take you to places you never even thought you could dream.”
