Even though “Criminal Minds” has had a 12-season run on CBS, pulling in sold ratings each week, the show could be coming to an end. On Thursday, the network released its renewal announcement, and the show was not listed among the 16 renewed programs.

The network’s annual spring tradition of picking up a variety of shows revealed that five of its freshman shows and 11 veteran shows are here to stay for at least one more season. If you can believe it, “Criminal Minds” didn’t make the cut, nor did other favorites, including “Elementary,” “2 Broke Girls” and “The Amazing Race.”
However, fans need not fret just yet! The drama series wasn’t included on the list last year either but ultimately ended up coming back for Season 12. In the past, contract negotiations with actors and co-producer ABC have caused delays. So, while it’s still possible that the 13th season of “Criminal Minds” will make it to your TV screens, it’s certainly understandable if some fans will be on edge until an official announcement is made.
Among those approved for renewal are “Life In Pieces,” “Mom,” “Kevin Can Wait,” “Man With A Plan,” “Superior Donuts,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “NCIS: New Orleans,” “Hawaii Five-0,” “Blue Bloods,” “Scorpion,” “Madam Secretary,” “Bull,” “MacGyver,” “Survivor,” “60 Minutes” and “48 Hours.” Favorites such as “NCIS” and “The Big Bang Theory” had been previously renewed.
