The British Royal Family released a photo of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Prince William and Kate Middleton, and Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles in their finest royal regalia.

The ladies wore tiaras while the men sported knee high socks and blue sashes.

According to the photo’s  description, the group was welcoming “the world’s Ambassadors and High Commissioners from the UK’s diplomatic community to Buckingham Palace for the annual Diplomatic Reception.”

Of special note, Kate Middleton’s tiara, the Cambridge Lover’s Knot, held special significance because it was the same tiara that was favored by Prince William’s mother, Princess Diana.

The tiara was originally made for Queen Mary in 1914 and was given to Princess Diana by Queen Elizabeth as a wedding present in 1981.
