If you’re Queen Elizabeth II, why have just one castle when you can have two?

That’s likely not the Queen’s rationale, but we have to give it to her: her second residence in Edinburgh, Scotland, is just as breathtaking as her main home at Buckingham Palace in London.

This is Holyrood Palace, the official residence of The Royal Family in Scotland.

Holyrood Palace is located just off of Edinburgh’s Royal Mile, a street filled with local cashmere sellers, quirky souvenir shops and pubs. It isn’t far from the Scottish Parliament Building either, who gets this beautiful view right from its office windows:
