Two-time champ Val Chmerkovskiy is clearly ready to defend his “DWTS” title with this incredible quickstep

Val Chmerkovskiy and partner Normani Kordei really brought the heat on Monday night’s episode of “Dancing with the Stars!”

Ahead of their spin around the ballroom, Chmerkovskiy surprised his Fifth Harmony band member at her concert and revealed he was going to be her partner for the season.

Kordei has been looking forward to competing for the Mirror Ball trophy and tugged at our heartstrings when she confessed she and her grandmother regularly watch the show together.

When it was time to show off their moves, this pair held nothing back! The spins, the fancy footwork and the chemistry between them were truly outstanding, and the judges agreed.

This high-powered routine left Chmerkovskiy and Kordei with 27 out of a possible 40 points. Not a bad start to the season!
