Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) joined “Arkansas Week: Special Edition” for an interview on New Year’s Day in which he endorsed Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-Vt.) to be the Democratic nominee.

“For many months, I’ve been strongly in favor of Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary,” he said, chuckling.

Sen. Cotton probably wasn’t joking because Hillary Clinton would more than likely stand a better chance than Sanders in a national election.

In other words, Sen. Cotton’s “endorsement” isn’t pro-Sanders it’s anti-Clinton.

Sen. Cotton said he wouldn’t say which Republican he’s backing until March 1.
