It turns out there’s some pretty glaring science ignorance out there in the general public, even among public servants and CNN reporters.

Neal Boortz asks: “Do you know that 25 percent of the people in this country believe that the Sun revolves around the Earth?”

“And we have a state senator right now who’s running for U.S. senate, Paul Brown — he thinks the Earth is only 6,000 years old. What an embarrassment for Georgia that will be.”

On top of this, A CNN anchor actually asked Bill Nye if asteroids hitting the Earth had something to do with global warming.

“Global warming causing asteroids?!” asked a flabbergasted Boortz.

People really need to do their homework.
