Brad Pitt

“America is a country founded on guns. It’s in our DNA. It’s very strange but I feel better having a gun. I really do. I don’t feel safe, I don’t feel the house is completely safe, if I don’t have one hidden somewhere. That’s my thinking, right or wrong,” Pitt once told the Daily Mail.

Jeremy Renner

Following the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in 2012, actor Jeremy Renner joined dozens of other celebrities in a PSA to raise awareness of gun violence in schools. When his fan based reacted negatively, Renner clarified his stance in a statement on his personal website.

“Taking guns from people is no answer. I own guns and want to keep it that way. But guns don’t kill people… people kill people. Blaming movies or video games is no actionable solution,” Renner wrote.

Robert Deniro

In 2010, the New York Daily News ran a report on famous New Yorkers with permits to carry a concealed weapon on them. Among the star studded list was Academy Award winner Robert Deniro. Deniro has never confirmed whether or not he actively carries, and has supported gun control in the past. In a 2012 interview on CNN, Deniro took the not-so-popular stance of defending the stand your ground law.

Whoopi Goldberg

Throughout her tenure has co-host of The View, comedienne Whoopi Goldberg has repeatedely referenced that she is a proud gun owner. In June 2014, Goldberg echoed previous statements by noting that, she is a gun owner, and if anyone wants to check her background to make sure she can buy a gun—they are free to do so.

“I also am a gun owner. But I will tell you: As a responsible gun owner, I don’t have any problem with you checking my background. I got no problem — check whatever you need to check to make everybody else feel comfortable. And I’m OK with that.”

Angelina Jolie

Like her husband Brad Pitt, Jolie is a proud gun owner, and in 2008 told the Daily Mail why she keeps a gun in the house.

“I bought original, real guns of the type we used in ‘Tomb Raider’ for security. Brad and I are not against having a gun in the house, and we do have one. And yes, I’d be able to use it if I had to … If anybody comes into my home and tries to hurt my kids, I’ve no problem shooting them.”
