Word is out that The California Endowment (a private foundation) has provided a $500,000 grant to get TV shows to sing the praises of Obamacare. Just in case the writers had writer’s block, here are a few ways they can work it into their storylines.

1. Modern Family

Mitch and Cam are confused to discover that they have to spend money on maternity coverage and birth control.

2. Once Upon a Time

The good taxpaying citizens of Storybrooke log on and find excellent coverage at reasonable prices. The town doctors are thrilled and provide excellent care to their friends and neighbors. Everyone lives healthfully ever after.

3. Sleepy Hollow

Ichabod is horrified to discover that, after all of his hard work in bringing freedom to America, we have given so much of it back to the government. In disgust, serves himself up to the Headless Horseman.

4. Keeping Up With the Kardashians (Don’t pretend it isn’t scripted)

In an effort to see what the poor people complain about, the Kardashian sisters log in to apply for coverage under Obamacare. The entire hour chronicles them refreshing their browser, trying to make the error message go away.

5. Game of Thrones

Tyrion Lannister convinces his nephew King Joffrey that he needs to spruce up his public image. In an effort to seem like a magnanimous dictator, Joffrey forces his subjects to buy healthcare. In the episodes which follow, the people are unable to enroll and put to death for lacking insurance. Those who remain have their medical decisions handed over to the Lannister family, which meets to decide who lives and dies at King’s Landing.

Hey, California Endowment? Feel free to send that $500k my way. You’re welcome!
