A cast iron skillet is nearly impossible to clean — or is it?

Let’s face it — food always seems to taste best when it’s cooked on a cast iron pan.

But that’s some of the most difficult cookware to clean. It seems impossible to get off all the baked-on grease.

We just learned a little trick — “seasoning” your cast iron skillet or frying pan not only cleans it beautifully, but also prolongs its life!

To season your cookware, get off as much of the gunk as you can, allow it to dry, then coat it with canola oil and bake it in your oven for an hour. It sounds crazy, but it works!
